Hello and Welcome! I am MoRiya Martin or you can call me Mo for short. My pronouns are she/her and I would love to hear yours as well. I am a NYC based hairstylist and my salon is located in Williamsburg Brooklyn. I am originally from the Midwest. Omaha, Nebraska to be exact, where we live by a slogan called “The good life.” I’ve been in the biz since 2009 and I have to tell ya that’s a lot of haircuts. I specialize in dry hair cutting, hair color and extensions. When it comes to hair color, I lean into color enhancement. That means I use your eye color, skin tone, and natural features to customize what will best suit you and your desired look. I am a blonding expert and am always living for spicy reds and dimensional browns. Seamless low maintenance color blends are my jam. My dry cutting techniques are perfect for any hair texture. I have extensive training and years of experience in curly and textured hair. I enjoy playing with shapes and take on more of a sculpting approach to create a unique cut made just for you. Ready to ignite a big hair don’t care attitude at all times. Let’s not forget my main love… Extensions! I am trained in various extension methods and we can find the technique that best fits your needs. I like to use extensions for adding length, volume, and/or damage free color. My favorite looks are effortless, melty, messy and shaggy lived in hair. Encouraging textures and organic placement. Enhancing what your mama (or papa) gave ya! The thing I love most about being a hairstylist is connecting with my guests. They become family. We support each other and grow together. I love helping my guests find their own identity and celebrate self expression. The true art is creating the perfect look to represent the individual. I want my guests to feel like their best selves. I work closely with the lgbtqia+ community and am consistently working to create a safe and encouraging space for exploration and growth. I find my inspiration through my guests. They are incredible. Their stories, their life, their laugh. Each person is so unique and I think their hair should be to.
